The Weather

After a record breakingly warm January and February, March and April were cold and wet. Growth rates of our spring sowings and outdoor transplants was slow at best. The bulb onions have only this week begun to budge, and thats after slowly shrinking over the past month. Slugs and flea beetles didn't mind though, they flourished. One organic technique we used was a weekly slug hunt conducted by intrepid middle schoolers. Chickens love slugs.
